entry: Sure I can do that, just not right now. I'm knee deep in a couple of projects but once I catch some breathing room I'll post a question about the rules on those sites & update my blog with the links/details.

entry: Hello Jeff
I read this on your first blog entry here "I'm working on a couple of 3dsmax/mental ray training videos. They cover Max 6 though 9 now. One video series discusses the settings, shaders/materials, lighting types, caustics/GI/FG, photon sizing, tips & tricks, unlocking & editing shaders, and lot's more. This set will be available as an online download."

and

"The second set is a Max9/mental ray project based training series with a focus on typical workflow. .....It will be available in DVD format."

Are they still available to buy? Overseas purchase ? I am sure they will be terrific.
Thanks gor suggesting Vizdepot. Excellent site very friendly people there.. Greekbear my login name there . Hope I hear from you soon.
You have any on line tutorials scheduled? Displacement, SSS materials in architecture, MetaSL, Graphite Tools are some of the things lots of us would love to see you demonstrate.
Thanx Peter

really struggling with a flaking/rusty metal shader/material

i have my scene setup, it just looks a little to clean and its a mechanical robotic arm.

i wanted to add some flaking rust and peeling logos to add to the emphasis of the realism.

at the minute i also have this setup in a studio environment which you helped me setup a while back. 2 sky portals with blackbody shaders.

i really want to eccentuate the reflections with the use of hdri on the bits that are pristine but again stuggling to get this to work

would really appreciate some help
