It's a very sad day when someone as hard working and generous as you has to give up the thing you love. I can honestly say that I would not be where I am today without the knowledge of mental ray that you have selflessly passed on. Reading your blog every month was a pleasure and I wish you and your family all the best for the future. Please don't let this be an end to your 3D career, if the chance arises come back. The mental ray community will be a much poorer place without you.

I'm very sorry to hear about your situation. I know its a cliche, but very accurate to say that you are a pillar of the CG community and it would be a great shame to lose you. I personally can't believe mental images hasn't stepped up and put you on retainer considering what you must have done for their sales and support over the years.
In any case, I hope you are able to find a way to keep doing what you love and thank you for all that you have contributed to the CG world and to me personally.
