Hey, Jeff, I recently had a problem with the A&D shader with caustics. Just to make sure you didn't do the same thing I did: goto the "advanced rendering options" pannel on the A&D shader and make sure that the "Refract light and generate Causic effects" option is enabled (The default is "Use tranparent shadows") That fixed the behavior for me.
Thank you Dashkevicz, you're right, I did not have that option enabled. After reading your post I thought that would fix the problem with my test scene for sure. But I ran a test render with that option enabled and oddly enough it still produced the same result. Looks like I'll have to create a new scene and verify if it's just something quirky with this current test scene.
