entry: Hi Jeff,
some friends of mine works vray, and i have seen great results with an HDRI map on Dome light in Vray. Do you have any idea a good solution for an HDRI map in a light in MR, until now only on a sphere with MR shader and HDRI loaded on surface and photon... but it lacks because it has no shadows...

You are the best in MR with Zap of course...
Thanks for your time...

entry: cayocayo: If you're using the free version of the portfolios perhaps there are some limitations on the number of images you can submit in a given time frame or something similar? If you're a member of CGS then check your gallery settings to make sure all the images are set to be visible. Beyond that, I'd ask someone in the portfolio support forum here:

JohnKomnos: mental ray in 3ds Max doesn't have a direct equivalent to that wonderful Vray domelight. In mental ray / 3ds Max you can use the skylight & map your .hdr to it or the environment, but the big difference is that it doesn't generate direct light like the Vray dome light. The skylight only provides indirect light and in order for that to work, FG must be enabled. Don't get me wrong, the FG + skylight method works ok (you may need to use a lot of FG samples or a blurred .hdr). But IMHO the Vray dome light (Brazil R/S has one too) is a more refined solution to IBL.
