entry: Westcoast13: Thanks for those ultra kind words. Although I know many other 'real' artists with far more talent than I.

simmsimaging: Hey Brett, thanks for the comment.

MarcoTomaselli: Thanks. Sorry for the confusion, but which 'teapot gi' scene are you referring to? Is it in one of my older blog entries?

entry: Ahhh, no worries. The light used in that scene is a single visible photometric area light. The visible option on the photometric lights is new to 3ds Max 2009.

entry: Love that clay material buddy. Great render too.

What's the big difference between the new pro materials and the a&d materials? Just easier settings for the average user?

Tell Zap to stop making things so easy, we're going to be out of jobs sooner or later

entry: Hey Jason, The ProMaterials first and foremost offer compatibility with Revit. Then they provide users a material with accurate, measured settings and minimal adjustments required by users.

entry: Hi pablorops, which aspect(s) of the scene do you need more details on? Keep in mind I've posted that scene (minus the shadow cards) in previous blog entries so you can download it and take a look at all the settings. The only thing that's missing from the scene I posted previously is the shadow boxes that I briefly discussed in my 4/11/08 blog entry.

If you're using an older version of 3ds Max (6-9) and can't open the file for review, then there's no need in me explaining this setup because it would be completely different for previous versions that do not have the skylight portals or photographic exposure control options.
