By now I think it should be clear that I'm extremely passionate about 3d. When I stumbled into 3d some years back it felt like I had finally found what I'm supposed to be doing with my life (still does)! With that being said....due to the crumbling economy here in the US it appears as though I may have to walk away from this career (freelance artist) and community that I love and enjoy so much.
It absolutely devastates me to even think like that. But I have to be realistic and put my desires to the side because I have a family to support and bills need to be paid, food put on the table, and life has to go on...regardless of whether I'm doing what I love or not. :(
Barring a miracle, it appears that when I finish the few projects I have underway now I will be forced to change gears and try something else with my life. We (3d artists) are a tight-knit community and I think of you all my brothers & sisters. As such, I sincerely hope all of you reading this aren't experiencing the same issues. If you are, take what little comfort comes from knowing you're not alone. I feel your pain and truly hope things get better for you too.
<sigh>, what a severely depressing situation this is.
